We’re absolutely delighted that Mia (Performance Squad) has been invited to join the England swimming team which will compete in the 2025 International School Sport Federation U15 World School Games (the ISF Gymnasiade). https://events.isfsports.org/
The England swimming team is managed by the English Schools Swimming Association (ESSA), and consists of 25 swimmers and 9 para swimmers drawn from schools all over England. The low numbers mean that competition for a place is fierce, and it is a great honour to be selected to take part.
The ISF Gymnasiade is the largest sporting competition in the world after the Olympics, with over 3,500 of the best young athletes from 55 countries taking part in this year’s 7-day event comprising of 22 sports. It is not only an elite-level sporting event, but an amazing and unrivalled educational and cultural opportunity for the athletes.
This will be Mia’s first international selection and meet, and she and the team will be travelling to Zlatibor, Serbia next week to take part. Mia will be swimming her favourite events: 50m, 100m and 200 back, plus the 50m free. The competition’s opening ceremony will be on 5th April, and the swimming events will take place on 6th, 7th, 8th and 10th April.
🏴 Fingers crossed for ALL the England team – swim fast and have fun! 🏴
