What a brilliant weekend of racing from everyone at the Hatfield Gala!
Across all squads, our swimmers showed tremendous effort, determination, and team spirit from the very first race to the final relay. Every swimmer stepped up to the challenge, producing a fantastic series of performances that reflected the hard work being put in at training.
There were huge personal bests, confident race executions, and noticeable improvements in starts, turns, and pacing. More importantly, there was a clear sense of focus and professionalism from everyone on poolside — staying prepared, listening to feedback, and supporting one another throughout the weekend.
Your behaviour, attitude, and enthusiasm were first class and truly represented the values of our club. The commitment to warm-ups, cool-downs, and recovery between races showed maturity and an understanding of what it takes to perform consistently across multiple sessions.
This meet also highlighted how well our swimmers are adapting to the early-season focus on technique, aerobic development, and race skills. These foundations are beginning to show through in your performances, setting the tone for a strong run into Winter Regionals and the rest of the season.
It was also fantastic to see newer swimmers gaining valuable experience racing at this level, while our more experienced athletes led by example — both in and out of the pool. The energy, discipline, and team unity displayed over the weekend made a lasting impression on the coaching team.
